Nadezhda-M is a hybrid version of the Nadezhda space craft series, which still uses the KAUR-1 bus of the earlier versions, but features the new onboard search and rescue transponder, RK-SM. Follow-on RK-SM units will use Sterkh, the new microsatellite bus developed in Omsk.
