Gaofen (GF) is a series of Chinese civilian remote sensing satellites for the state-sponsored program China High-definition Earth Observation System (CHEOS). This satellite is believed to be in fact a military satellite series despite of having a civilian designation. It is believed, that the military designation is JianBing 16.

GF 11 appears to be a high resolution optical earth observation satellite.

  • Gaofen 11-01 was launched on 31 July 2018 on a CZ-4B rocket from China's Taiyuan space center.
  • A second satellite, Gaofen 11-02, was launched on 7 September 2020.
  • A third satellite, Gaofen 11-03, was launched on 11 November 2021.
  • The fourth satellite, Gaofen 11-04, followed on 27 December 2022.
