Grégoire is a technology demostration satellite by Aerospacelab.

Grégoire is the first flight of Aerospacelab's Versatile Satellite Platform, which aims to provide standardized building blocks capable of accommodating a variety of missions to private and public stakeholders.

While the demonstration is primarily focused on proving Aerospacelab's VSP capabilities in terms of attitude control, data handling, and payload interfaces (to name a few), Grégoire also makes the case for Aerospacelab's laser communication operating between the satellite and its ground station via a Free Space Optical Communication (FSOC) embarked terminal.
