Delfi-C3 is the first nanosatellite student project from the Technical
University of Delft in the Netherlands. The satellite is based on the CubeSat concept and a number of novel technologies were tested on board the satellite:
- Hands-on education & training of students on a real spacecraft project.
- Demonstration of four arrays of Thin Film Solar Cells (TFSC) from Dutch Space.
- Demonstration of two Autonomous Wireless Sun Sensors (AWSS) from TNO.
- A Radio Amateur Platform (RAP) from TU Delft, comprising a linear transponder.
- Development of a modular nanosatellite spacecraft bus and a distributed ground segment.
After launch, the satellite received the designations DO 64 or Delfi-OSCAR 64.
