Luojia 1-01 is a earth observation satellite built by the Wuhan University.

The satellite acts as a prototype for a future 60-80 earth observation satellite constellation.

It has a total weight of 22 kg and uses a large relative aperture telecentric optical system, a baffle servo system to suppress stray light, and large pixel high-sensitivity imaging devices to produce night-light imaging technology that is highly sensitive and dynamic. It has a dynamic range of up to 15 bits, a 130 m resolution, and a 250 km-wide luminous imaging capability. It can provide rich application scenarios and provide details about changes in luminous brightness, providing accurate information for studies based on night-light remote sensing macroeconomic analysis.

It was planned to be launched in 2016 as a secondary payload, but has been delayed to mid 2018.
